SOY CANDLES
Soy candles burn longer and cooler than paraffin candles by 30-50%. Paraffin candles are also a petroleum-based product, likely more detrimental to the environment.
They are easy to clean up if spilled with hot and soapy water.
Because they are slow burning, they gradually release their fragrances.
Soy wax lends itself to the support of farmers and sustainable agriculture. Soy is a plant, not a man made substance.
WAX MELTS
Wax melts have a longer and more efficient burn time than a candle.
They absorb heat slowly, releasing aromas without burning off fragrance.
Wax melts are cheaper.
Wax melts are flame free and safer. Most wax melting apparatus are heated by a small light bulb.
No chemicals are released when burning.
Wax melts generate no soot (think of the black residue left after a fire).
WHY DOES MY CANDLE LOOK LIKE IT HAS “WET SPOTS” OR IS “FROSTY”?
These are NOT flaws in the candles but natural characteristics of pure soy wax and is actually a testament to the lack of paraffin and preservatives in soy candles. Neither of these characteristics, in any way, affect the scent throw or burning properties of the candles.
WHAT’S COOL ABOUT WOOD WICKS?
Wooden wick candle wicks have a distinct crackling sound when burning, and a generally more calming and appealing aspect in creating ambiance- in a consumer-facing study, a whopping 96% of consumers said that wooden wick candles are more calming vs. their cotton wick counterparts, and 92% of consumers stated that wooden wick candles create more ambiance. They also do not leave a sooty residue that allow the candle to burn clean.
SHOULD I TRIM THE WICK AFTER BURNING?
The simple answer is yes. After the candle has cooled down of course, please trim your wick to about a ¼”. Most if not all wicks burn best with frequent attention to keeping your wick to the right length. Burn times will be increased with proper care.
WHEN SHOULD I DISCARD MY CANDLE?
Never...But, when there is approximately 1/4” of wax left on the bottom of your candle you should discontinue use and repurpose the container.
SAFETY TIPS
Please do not leave candle burning unattended.
Keep candles out of the reach of small children and pets.
Always burn on a heat resistant surface.
Do not touch or move candle with visible (liquid) hot wax.
Keep burning candles away from drafts, vents, and ceiling fans to minimize smoking or a wick blowing out causing the candle to burn unevenly.
Make sure candle is completely extinguished and the wick no longer glows before leaving the room.
